Dallas star Patrick Duffy recalls when love ‘found’ him in ‘Covid romance’ with Linda Purl
express.co.ukThis Morning today.The couple shared their modern day love story, which began during a group text chat in 2020.Linda and Patrick began video calling each other on FaceTime before starting to make “two to three hour” Zoom calls every night.Patrick branded his and Linda’s relationship, which began at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, a “Covid romance”.He continued: “We didn’t sit in the same room for almost four months but we spoke to each other every day.“We kept texting and texting became FaceTime and for two and a half months plus we Zoomed every night for two or three hours.“We didn’t have that thing after the third dinner, do I kiss?
Do I take her to my house?”Linda added: “As we were about to do the end meeting, Patrick says, ‘see you tomorrow love you.’”But Patrick was determined to finally see his long-distance love in person.He explained: “The next day we zoomed it was like, ‘Hi’.A post shared by Linda Purl (@lindapurl)“I got into my car and drove 23 hours to her doorstep and we’ve never been apart.”Linda added: “I don’t think it would have happened otherwise because in our normal lives pre-pandemic we wouldn’t have had three hours to Zoom but we did.”Patrick went on to label Linda, who he started dating in July 2020, “the most beautiful thing in the world”.He added: “I wasn’t looking for (love) but it found me.”Linda took to her Instagram earlier today to share a glimpse of the interview with a snap of the pair sitting on the This Morning sofa opposite hosts Rochelle Humes and Phillip Schofield.But the actress seemed to get Phillip’s name confused as she thanked the hosts in the caption.In view of her 9,000 followers, she penned: “Thank you Rochelle and Paul for This Morning.”Joannalouisemartinneeyoung.
