A dad who stabbed a burglar in his house to death "pretended he believed his partner and child were in danger", a court heard.
Karl Townsend and half brother Jamie Cunningham allegedly brandished knives after being alerted by Ring doorbell that Townsend's home in Halewood was being broken into.
Prosecutors added that after being alerted they rushed to the house and were faced with three intruders. Townsed was then said to have stabbed Jordan Brophy in the head and arm, before knifing him in in the face twice.
One stab wound to the face when directly through his left optic nerve while wedging a broken part of the blade in his brain, Liverpool Echo reports.
