Dad fears 'living in a tent' as home of 17 years taken over by landlord's relatives

A family fear they could be left 'living in a tent' as their home of 17 years is set to be taken over by the landlord's relatives Geoff and Collette Stothard have lived with their six children in private rented accommodation since 2008.

But last November they were rocked after being told the family of their landlord had secured a possession order to take back their home.

Mr Stothard said that in a bid to seek a new home, he had contacted Liverpool council's housing team for support. The 57-year-old said despite hours of calls he had been told almost two dozen times his case would be escalated, without a result to date.

The dad-of-six said the initial tenancy began with their private landlord 17 years ago, initially on a six month basis, before coming to a rolling arrangement.
