Michelle Trachtenberg had been battling health issues and "feared death" before she passed away at the young age of 39.The actress, famous for her roles on Gossip Girl and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, was found dead by her mother in her New York City apartment close to Columbus Circle last Wednesday morning.
Sources close to Trachtenberg told People that she had opened up to her friends about her mental and physical health challenges over the past year. "She was really, really sick and was open with those close to her about her struggles," one insider revealed.They also noted she looked "pale, gaunt, and very thin." A staff member from a restaurant where Trachtenberg dined during her last outing remarked how she could scarcely navigate the stairs due to her illness.
Her death is currently deemed natural, possibly connected to complications from a recent liver transplant, with the police sources ruling out foul play.
