A "loving dad" has died after allegedly being hit by a vehicle on a busy Glasgow city centre street.Christopher Hanton, 40, from Chryston, North Lanarkshire, was allegedly struck by the motor on George Street at around 10.50pm on Saturday, August 5.Emergency services raced to the scene and Christopher, known as Chris, was rushed by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
However, he has since passed away.The 40-year-old's loved ones said they have been left devastated by his sudden passing. In a statement, the said: “Chris was a devoted and dedicated husband to Lynne and loving father to Zak with many friends and family.
We are all truly devastated.” A 48-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident, and appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, August 7.
A further report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Detective Inspector Sarah-Jane Finnigan said: “At this time, our thoughts are with Christopher’s family and friends.
