Dad and stepmum 'killed son, 11, found in nappy after forcing him to drink water'

A couple has been accused of killing their young boy by forcing him to drink large amounts of water, according to reports. Zachary Sabin, 11, was found dead in the family home wearing a nappy soaked with urine and bruises on his body, reports said.

His dad and stepmum, from Colorado, US, are said to have turned themselves in to the El Paso County jail on Tuesday. Sgt. 1st Class Ryan Sabin, 41, and Tara Sabin, 42, now face charges of child abuse resulting in death and six counts of misdemeanor child abuse, the Colorado Springs Gazette reports.

Zachary is also believed to have been physically abused, according to an arrest affidavit. Bruises were said to have been found on his head, arms, shin and buttocks.
