Cyclist seriously injured after crash near recycling centre

A cyclist was seriously injured after a collision with a car close to a recycling centre, police have revealed. Greater Manchester Police said the cyclist sustained 'potentially life-changing injuries' and was taken to hospital, where they remained on Saturday.

The force's roads policing unit is investigating and today issued an appeal to the public for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The crash happened on Longley Lane in Sharston, Wythenshawe, at around 6pm on Friday night. READ MORE: "Our town's more than the 'new Didsbury'.
