Police have made an arrest after a man was 'attacked with a hammer' after a collision on the M61 on Tuesday morning (March 20).
Emergency services were called to the incident on the motorway following reports a man had been assaulted. The victim was found by police and paramedics before reporting he had been attacked with a hammer following a collision.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police and Lancashire Police arrested a male at the scene who was transferred for questioning in Manchester. He remains in custody. A post shared by GMP Traffic on Tuesday read: "This morning calls were received regarding a motorist being attacked on the M61.
