A cyclist was rushed to hospital after a crash with a horsebox on a busy road near Manchester Airport. The smash happened on Wilmslow Road, close to the junction with Sunbank Lane, just after 8am yesterday morning (September 9).
Police believe the cyclist, a man aged in his 60s, was travelling south down the road on his bike, with the horsebox also travelling south behind him.
The cyclist and horsebox then collided, with the cyclist 'becoming unseated'. He was rushed to hospital from the scene. No arrests have been made at this stage. A stretch of the road, close to Manchester Airport, was cordoned off for several hours yesterday as investigations were carried out by officers.
