A burst water pipe has caused one of Manchester’s crown courts to close. Minshull Street Crown Court was unable to open yesterday or today as it was without water.

The court is not expected to re-open until Thursday, with cases having had to be adjourned. Today, two Minshull Street judges heard cases across the city at Manchester Crown Court in Spinningfields, while another sat at Bolton Crown Court.

Issues were first reported on Saturday morning, following a burst to a pipe on Portland Street.
