Cristiano Ronaldo shocked Irish fans when he walked out of an interview with RTÉ‘s Tony O’Donoghue following the Ireland-Portugal match.
The veteran footballer broke the international world record with his 110th and 111th goals late on in the World Cup qualifier, leading to Ireland losing 2-1 to Portugal.
Although his first penalty was saved by Ireland’s Gavin Bazunu, he dashed Ireland’s hope for a win with two goals in the final minutes of the match. ‘So happy, I’m very happy, not only because I beat the record but because of the special moments that we had, (it was) so tough but I have to appreciate what the team did, we believed until the end,’ Ronaldo told RTÉ after the match in an interview. ‘For the supporters, I’m so glad.’ Speaking
