Cristiano Ronaldo began crying after missing a penalty for Portugal during extra-time against Slovenia. The former Manchester United forward saw his spot-kick saved by Jan Oblak just before half-time in extra-time of the Euro 2024 last-16 clash.
Having had an individual battle with Oblak throughout the game up to 105 minutes, Ronaldo was unable to control his emotions and had to be consoled by his teammates during the break.
United defender Diogo Dalot was one of those who went to comfort Ronaldo as he was left distraught at missing the game's biggest chance.
Liverpool star Diogo Jota also consoled him, then Dalot had his arm around him in the huddle while he wept and then spoke to him and kissed him as they headed back to their positions.
