Nicola Sturgeon confirmed "baseline" covid restrictions will remain in place across Scotland. The First Minister told MSPs at her weekly statement on the pandemic that recent data "continues to give grounds for optimism".
But Scots will still be expected to wear face coverings when using public transport, visiting shops or other indoor public spaces.
The Scottish Government is required by law to review all covid restrictions every three weeks. Meanwhile a new study has found immune cells protecting against Covid-19 are able to identify the Omicron variant.
