Councillor raises concern over damaged crash barriers on Ravenscraig road

A local councillor has raised concerns about significant damage to road safety crash barriers on a busy carriageway in Ravenscraig.Sections of the crash barriers at the New Craig Road in Ravenscraig have been hit by drivers and the damage has weakened the protection provided to pedestrians by the structures if struck again by motor vehicles.The crash barriers at the side of the road on approach to the A723 roundabout from Ravenscraig and where motorists can turn left on to Merry Street, drive straight through or go right to Carfin have experienced considerable damage.Councillor Nathan Wilson has contacted the local authority’s roads service to ask for the weakened barriers to either be replaced or repaired.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
