Adultery is falling in Hamilton, with the cost of living crisis a factor in the cheating decrease. Website IllicitEncounters.com has found that there are 1,131 people having an affair in the Lanarkshire town - a 15 per cent fall on last year's figure of 1,336.

In nearby Biggar the figure is up by two people in 2022 from 145 to 147.In Motherwell 1161 are found to be committing adultery, up from 1421 last year and meaning the town has been ranked number 33 in the country for cheating partners.And in Coatbridge and Wishaw some 774 and 664 people respectively are having an affair, while a massive combined 1931 people in Rutherglen and Cambuslang are said to be in the throes of a fling.
