Corrie's Kylie Platt star Paula Lane reveals why she's moved to rival Emmerdale

Paula spent six years in Corrie that ended in 2016 with Kylie’s murder by Clayton Hibbs, and she’s now looking forward to the change of soap scenery. “I think it’s a natural fit and, obviously, I’m from Yorkshire, too,” she says. “I feel like I’m going to be very much at home here.

I’ve covered lots of theatre, been with my family… so I think enough time has passed to be able to branch out and be seen as someone other than Kylie. “Ella is a single woman, who is very professional,” adds Paula. “She doesn’t mince her words, so she’s a good friend to have on your side.” And she immediately forges a friendship in the Dales when she goes to the rescue of Mandy Dingle, played by Lisa Riley, at work.
