Coronation Street's Leanne Battersby, portrayed by Jane Danson, might be facing an unexpected exit as the soap's new boss teases major changes.

Since her arrival in 1997 with the rest of the Battersby clan, including sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor), Leanne has been a staple on the show.

Over the years, she's been embroiled in numerous dramatic storylines, from shocking affairs and sex work to heartbreaking baby loss and drug misuse.The past year has been particularly tough for Leanne.

Not only was she lured into a cult, The Institute, led by Rowan (Emrhys Cooper), but she was also devastated when she found out that Toyah had slept with her then-fiancé Nick (Ben Price).
