Stuck for Christmas gift ideas? You’re in luck – Coronation Street fans can get their hands on Roy Cropper merchandise! Apparently we just can’t get enough of the shy cafe-owning soap character, played by 72 year old actor David Nielson.

He’s become an unlikely pin-up thanks to a dedicated calendar, jokingly calling him ‘Roy Cropper – The Panty Dropper’, plus T-shirts, phone cases, shopping bags and more.

Our Roy’s been a star since arriving on the Weatherfield cobbles back in 1995. But he’s had a rough ride and even featured in an assisted dying plot in which he helped his beloved wife Hayley to die.
