Carla Connor's secret will be exposed and cause a "heartrending" rift between herself and Peter on Coronation Street. The darkest period of Carla's life is set to come back to haunt her and will cause a major rift between herself and Peter Barlow.

Carla went missing last year as she struggled with her mental health after not taking her medication and it is still not known exactly what happened to her during that time.

Speaking to Mirror Online and other news publications yesterday, soap boss Iain MacLeod opened up about the secret and confirmed that while it will cause trouble for the couple, it won't end in a split.
