There have been some heartbreaking scenes being delivered by the actor at the start of the year as Paul Foreman continues to face his Motor Neurone Disease diagnosis.
Earlier this month in the ITV soap, Billy discovered what Paul had been secretly planning after viewers watched the heartbreaking moment when Paul suggested to Todd Grimshaw that he wanted to make the choice when his life should come to an end as his symptoms caused by the life-limiting disease progress.
Paul set about getting stronger painkillers from his GP but when Dr Gaddas didn't prescribe any more medication and left Paul turning to former drug addict Abi Webster.
