Former Emmerdale actress Gemma Oaten has revealed she almost died after being rushed to hospital with kidney distress.The 37-year-old was suffering from Covid when her health took a turn for the worse on April 19.
Days later she was diagnosed with milk-alkali syndrome, which can be caused by the excessive intake of calcium or the supplement calcium carbonate, which causes heightened levels in the patient's blood, making its balance become more alkaline.
Recovering at her home in London alone, Gemma explained in a lengthy Instagram post how she was feeling about her shock diagnosis and how it has made her reevaluate her life.
