Coronation Street legend's son to make professional boxing debut

The talented son of Coronation Street legend Phil Middlemiss is about to make his professional boxing debut. Alfie Middlemiss, 21, has been torn between careers as a boxer or to follow in his dad's footsteps as an actor for the past few years.

He's had huge success in both boxing and acting already - having won roles in big TV dramas including Waterloo Road, Doctors and the Madame Blanc Mysteries.

But now he's about to take the biggest step yet in his boxing career - going professional for the first time with his debut taking place in Liverpool on Friday night (December 6).

Alfie is being cheered on by proud dad Phil, who famously played Corrie rogue Des Barnes in the 1990s, and his mum Leanne, every step of the way.
