Coronation Street fans have been sharing their thoughts on David and Shona Platt's latest serious debacle - and they were quick to make a shock claim about their future.

Viewers will recall seeing David sneaking around last month, intercepting letters sent through the post and deleting emails from Shona's laptop before it was revealed she was being contacted by Weatherfield Prison about her son, Clayton Hibbs, who killed David's late wife, Kylie Platt, in cold blood in the middle of the cobbles.

David later paid a visit to Clayton in prison, with the latter speaking desperately about wanting to see his mum. But when David made it clear that that wasn’t going to happen, he relented and agreed to talk to him instead.

In a surprise to David, Clayton apologised for everything he’d done, revealing that he had started talking to a counsellor while in prison.
