Soap lovers have had their fair share of drama this week, but Coronation Street enthusiasts are absolutely gutted to find out that their beloved trip to Weatherfield has been axed tonight (21 February). The iconic show typically graces our screens every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for a full hour on ITV1, with episodes also dropping on ITVX from 7am.
But fans eager for their fix of the cobbled streets were met with disappointment as they discovered the programme had been yanked from the evening's lineup once more.
Instead of Corrie, after Emmerdale wraps up its slot at 7.00 - 7.30pm, ITV is set to broadcast the UEFA Women's Nations League. This evening sees England face off against Portugal, with the action kicking off at 7.45pm.
Disgruntled viewers took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to air their grievances. One angry fan posted: "FFS, does that mean Coronation Street isn't on?" while another lamented: "They've cancelled Coronation Street for this!" It's not the first time in recent weeks that schedule changes have left fans steaming; earlier in the month, the usual Friday night episode was swapped out for the Manchester United vs Leicester City match in the FA Cup, much to the chagrin of the soap's loyal following.
