A murder investigation is underway after the solictors body was found months after him going missing. As viewers of the ITV soap know, Joel, played by Calum Lill, was last seen on-screen at the end of September after he evaded court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
In then scenes aired at the end of September, after transferring money to Lauren and his ex-wife Emily, it was believed Joel may have ended up taking his own life - something ex-fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey didn't believe. PC Craig Tinker soon approached Swain and Kit Green and announced that they’ve found Joel's body. As the news was broken to the likes of Lauren and Dee-Dee, it was Kit who later confirmed Joel was dead when he went in the water, turning the case into a murder investigation.
