Coronation of King Charles slammed with more than 100 Ofcom complaints from fuming viewers

TV watchdog Ofcom was hit with 137 complaints about the Coronation of King Charles.The momentous event was broadcast across the globe on the weekend of May 6 and May 7 as Charles was officially crowned monarch following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth last year.BBC One also screened the celebrity-laden live Coronation concert, headlined by the likes of Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, the next day after the main event, on May 7.

Olly Murs and Dua Lipa were also on stage for the performance outside Windsor Castle. The 137 complaints, according to the Mirror, were related to the rolling and non-stop coverage of the event.

Most channels were running schedules which saw them blanketed by royal coverage. Last week we reported Scots Gogglebox couple Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle sparked backlash from fans after their comments about King Charles' Coronation and a chant about the royal family.

The Glasgow couple, who have been together for five years, joined the Channel 4 reality show last year and firmly became fan-favourites.
