Corner shop staff left in 'physical and emotional distress' after robbery

Staff at a corner shop in South Manchester have been left in 'physical and emotional distress' after a robbery. Officers were called to a report of a robbery at the Costcutters on Sandy Lane in Chorlton in around 8.50pm last night (Friday, March 4).

Two men entered the shop and made off with money and cigarettes. "They stole cash and tobacco, not to mention the physical and emotional distress that they have caused our staff," Paul, Diane, and Robert Madden, from the shop, said. "Any help would be gratefully appreciated," they added.

A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to a report of a robbery on Sandy Lane in Chorlton at around 8.50pm yesterday (4 March 2022). "Two males entered the premises and made off from the scene.

No one was injured. "Money and cigarettes were taken. "Enquiries are on-going and anyone with information is asked to report it online via LiveChat at www.gmp.police.uk.
