Cops shut busy Scots road after horror smash as motorists warned to expect delays

Police have closed a section of the A1 in East Lothian following reports of a crash.Emergency services were called to the scene on the southbound carriageway between Tranent and Dolphingstone on Saturday afternoon.

A picture from the area, shared by Edinburgh Live, shows a silver car with its hazard lights on as a road traffic officer stands nearby.

Traffic Scotland is warning fellow road users to expect delays as officers remain at the scene.It’s not currently known how many vehicles were involved or if anyone has been injured.
