Cops race to upmarket Edinburgh street after reports of man armed with knife

A man has been arrested after police were called to an upmarket Edinburgh street amid reports a male was armed with a knife.Officers from Police Scotland were called to Learmonth Terrace in the capital at around 11.30am this morning, September 3.

Following the incident a 55-year-old man was arrested and charged.Edinburgh Live reports witnesses saw uniformed and plainclothes police officers at the scene after receiving a report of a man in possession of a knife.Police dogs were also reported at the scene with locals saying the police activity at the scene was centred on a hotel.

Images shared with Edinburgh Live show a group of four police officers, including CID, outside a building.
