Carolyn Giardina “Conclave,” “The Brutalist” and “Vermiglio” have been added to the main competition lineup for the 32nd edition of the EnergaCamerimage international cinematography film festival, which will be held Nov.
16-23 in Toruń, Poland. Edward Berger’s Vatican thriller “Conclave” was lensed by Stéphane Fontaine, Brady Corbet’s historical drama “The Brutalist” was photographed by Lol Crawley, and Maura Delpero’s Italian drama “Vermiglio” was shot by Mikhail Krichman.
This trio of movies joins previously-announced main competition films “Emilia Pérez,” directed by Jacques Audiard and lensed by Paul Guilhaume; “The Girl With the Needle,” directed by Magnus von Horn and lensed by Michał Dymek; “The Fire Inside,” directed by Rachel Morrison and lensed by Rina Yang; “Small Things Like These,” directed by Tim Mielants and lensed by Frank van den Eeden; “The Devil’s Bath”directed by Veronica Franz and Severin Fail with cinematography by Martin Gschlacht; and “Cabrini,” directed by Alejandro Monteverde and lensed by Gorka Gómez Andreu.
Cate Blanchett is this year’s main competition jury president. The Camerimage main competition has emerged as an event to watch during awards season.
