He suggests that a cost-effective decision can be made even before switching on the dishwasher. The expert advises against running the machine until it's fully loaded, as half loads squander both energy and water.

Surprisingly, operating a full load should cost less than washing dishes manually. Moreover, Gene recommends always opting for an eco-friendly setting.
