Colin Keane returns from coronavirus quarantine with a winner at Leopardstown races

Colin Keane was straight back to winning ways after his coronavirus quarantine in the first race at Leopardstown. The rider took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden aboard the Ger Lyons-trained Angel Palm.

Sent off the 6/5 favourite for the contest over seven furlongs, the daughter of Dark Angel tracked the pace-setting Friendly and stretched away to score by three lengths.

Keane had to spend 14 days on the sidelines due to Covid-19 rules, after he travelled to the UK to partner Siskin in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. "We thought a good bit of her (Angel Palm) coming here the first day and she was just first day at school and very green," he told Racing UK. "She came forward from that and her maiden has worked out well.
