The much-anticipated Co-op Live arena finally opened this week after weeks of delays and cancellations, with the budget ballooning over £400m.

Elbow opened the arena on Tuesday which sits in the shadow of the Etihad Stadium and has been beset by problems in recent weeks.

Bosses are confident those issues are behind the arena now, with Eric Clapton set to play there on Saturday and Barry Manilow on Sunday.

That Sunday concert will provide arena bosses - and those at Manchester City - with the first real test of how Co-op Live and Etihad Stadium will co-exist when both are holding events.
