Clive Myrie reassures viewers after concerned about appearance on BBC news

Clive Myrie has spoken out after fans noticed the newsreader had a "drooping eye" while presenting BBC News on Monday night.

The reporter appeared on Monday night BBC News at Six wearing a black suit, white shirt and navy blue tie, but it wasn't his outfit that caught the attention of viewers as while his right eye was fully open, the left appeared half closed.

As viewers took to twitter concerned for the journalist, Clive issued a statement telling his followers that he was suffering from a slight infection, reports the Mirror.

The BBC News presenter wrote: "Happy N.Year everyone and thank you all for your concern over my left eye. It’s nothing serious, just an infection. "I did think about wearing an eye patch, but the boss said no!
