The Apprentice's Karren Brady has given an update on her co-host nearly a year after he suffered serious injuries while biking.The business executive, 52, lamented the absence of her co-star Claude Littner on the new series of the BBC show, which aired last night, as he continues to recover, admitting that he's had a "difficult time" following the accident.The businesswoman gave an update on her co-star, opening up on the issues he's had following his accident last April.This series of The Apprentice sees Lord Sugar, Karren, and the first-ever Apprentice winner Tim Campbell put 16 contestants through their paces.Addressing Claude's absence on the popular BBC programme, Karren said to OK!

Magazine: "Obviously, we were so desperately disappointed that he wasn't there but we were much more concerned about how he was."He had this terrible cycling accident, which has seen him have a number of operations."However, the mother-of-two added that the businessman is slowly recovering.Karren continued: "The good is that Claude is on the mend,"He's had a difficult time, but he's almost back to his best," she added.Last year, Lord Sugar took to Twitter to explain to his 5.2 million followers whether his co-star would be returning to the show following his accident.He wrote: "Just to clarify @claudelittner will be back."He had a serious accident just before filming started @bbcapprentice."The tweet comes as the businessman is recovering from injuries.Last April, The Apprentice star was riding an electric bike a mile away from his home when he found himself lying on the ground.He had to learn how to walk again after injuring his right leg so badly that he has required multiple surgeries, after revealing that doctors initially thought.
