variety.comMichaela Zee Christopher Ciccone, an artist, interior designer and younger brother of Madonna, has died, his rep Brad Taylor confirmed to Variety.
He was 63. Ciccone died Friday after a battle with cancer, according to a statement from his family. Ciccone, who got his start as a choreographer and dancer, was a frequent collaborator of Madonna’s during her rise in pop stardom in the 1980s.
He appeared in several music videos, including the one for his sister’s 1984 hit single “Lucky Star,” and served as art director on her 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour.
He was also the tour director for Madonna’s The Girlie Show tour in 1993. Madonna paid tribute to her brother on Sunday in an Instagram post, writing, “My brother Christopher is gone.
