Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic “Dolly Parton‘s Threads: My Songs in Symphony,” a multi-media concert experience designed to pair the country-pop superstar’s song catalog with local orchestras, has announced performances set to take place in 11 U.S.
cities from March 2025 through May of 2026. The creation of this Parton-based “storytelling experience” — which will not have the singer involved as a live participant in the shows, but featured on-screen — was first revealed in May of this year.
Wednesday’s announcement offered an itinerary of symphonies the show will be hooking up with across America. Cities the tour will hit in its first 15 months include Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Cleveland, Cincinnati, San Diego, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Portland, Eugene and Birmingham.
The announcement also included an on-sale date for the one show that had previously been announced back in May — its premiere date in Nashville on March 20, with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and other singers and musicians bolstering the star’s catalog of classics at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
