Chris Rock‘s younger brother Kenny defended the comedian more after the “slap heard ’round the world” when Will Smith rushed the stage at the 2022 Academy Awards and slapped him after Chris jokingly compared Jada Pinkett-Smith to the movie G.I.
Jane. Kenny reiterated that Chris didn’t know that Jada suffered from alopecia in an interview with Los Angeles Times published on Monday April 4.
Kenny said that he felt like his brother’s joke was “funny,” but he wouldn’t have touched it, if he knew that she had the condition. “It wasn’t hilarious funny, but I know that if he knew that she had alopecia,” he explained. “He wouldn’t make a joke about that.
But he didn’t know.” Shortly after the viral moment at the show on March 27, a source close to Chris had told TMZ that he didn’t know that she had alopecia.
