Chris McCausland has opened up about not joining the Strictly Come Dancing live tour after his sensational win on the show. The comedian, who lifted the glitterball trophy with pro dancer Dianne Buswell on Saturday night, got candid with Ranvir Singh on Lorraine about the intense experience on the BBC show, He shared: "It's been a really emotional Saturday night and I'm still feeling quite worn down by it.
It's been three and a half months; it's relentless. It's consuming - physically and mentally it takes a toll. This is what the show does, it wears you down physically and mentally and then it pokes you with a stick until you cry in front of everybody." Chris also revealed that he won’t be taking part in the Strictly tour as he prepares for his latest comedy tour - ‘Yonks!’.
He said: “I started the [comedy] tour in January this year and I did the first leg till May and then I was meant to be back out again in September but we moved the dates to accommodate Strictly… "It just wasn’t really a consideration at the time as I don’t think anyone thought I would be any good at it… I didn't think I would be going off the back of Strictly on tour.
I thought I would be going off the back of two months off.” Meanwhile, Dianne paid a heartfelt tribute to Chris on social media after their victory.
