Reported Celtic target Cho Gue-sung has swept up another accolade as he's been handed the Ansan Citizen's Happiness Award in his hometown.

Gue-sung was one of South Korea's stars in Qatar and became the first Korean ever to score multiple goals in a single World Cup game with his double against Ghana.

He also made headlines for his spat with Cristiano Ronaldo and has made himself a household name in his homeland, appearing on reality TV and a Vogue magazine cover to get many natives swooning over his movie star good looks. He might be the closest thing South Korean football has seen to a David Beckham figure but the 24-year-old could soon be coming to Scotland amid serious links with Celtic. Record Sport understands Giorgos Giakoumakis is increasingly likely to leave after a breakdown in contract talks and Gue-Sung, who has 21 goals in 35 appearances domestically this season, seems to be the primary target to replace him.

For now though he's lapping up the plaudits in his homeland and he's been handed a prestigious award in his hometown of Ansan.
