The famous author’s controversial tweets, taking issue with the phrasing ‘people who menstruate’ included in an article headline shared on Twitter, were immediately hit by backlash, with many branding Rowling transphobic.
It led to some also calling out Rowling for her representation of Black, Asian and minority ethnicities within the Harry Potter books, with many criticising the writer for calling her main Asian character Cho Chang.
Cho Chang started trending and Katie, who played the character in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter books, had the best response to Rowling’s recent tweets.
