Ministers are considering a ban on social media access for children under 16 as they look at different ways to bolster online safety for young people.
Tech Secretary Peter Kyle has said that he is "open-minded" towards the variety of proposals under review to curb internet dangers.
The Cabinet member is looking closely at the outcomes from a trial in Australia, which recently announced it was looking to ban social media for under 16s.
In an interview with The Sun, Kyle said: "There's nothing I take off the table when it comes to keeping children, women and girls safe in our society.
