HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) recently confirmed that Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance payments due on Monday, December 30 will not be issued until Tuesday, December 31.
The update was issued by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) when it provided a revised festive payment schedule for people on Universal Credit.
The payments schedule for Tax Credits, State Pensions, disability and devolved benefits issued by Social Security Scotland due on January 1st and 2nd have also been revised.
This is to ensure claimants receive payments on days when offices and phone lines are open. New Year's Day is a bank holiday in Scotland, England and Wales while January 2nd is recognised as a bank holiday in Scotland only.
