People in parts of Cheshire have headed to the polling station to vote in the local elections 2024. Two out of five boroughs in the county held elections on Thursday with voters in Warrington and Halton heading to the ballot box.
They had their say on who they would like to be their ward councillor and who think should run their local public services, including education, libraries, and bin collections.
Results for Halton are due on Friday and on Saturday in Warrington. No elections were held in Cheshire East or Cheshire West and Chester. Mayoral elections took place in East Midland, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, North East, South Yorkshire, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, York and North Yorkshire, London and Salford.
