Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has tested positive for coronavirus, the club have confirmed in a long statement. The Blues’ training ground has been partially closed, while players and staff who have had close contact with the England international will now self-isolate.
Hudson-Odoi becomes the first Premier League footballer to be named as having the virus, although Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has also contracted it.
Chelsea announced that the teenager will enter self-isolation straight away along with other personnel who were in the men’s team building.
