Chelsea are not put off by Borussia Dortmund’s £120m asking price for Jadon Sancho and remain determined to beat Manchester United to his signature this summer.
Frank Lampard was unable to strengthen his squad upon returning to Stamford Bridge last summer, with the Blues’ two-window transfer ban preventing them from signing players.
That embargo was lifted in time for the January window, but Lampard was still left without reinforcements after missing out on a number of reported targets.
The west London outfit are expected to back their head coach with serious investment at the end of the season, nevertheless, and Sancho is said to be one of the players on their radar.
