King Charles made the decision to evict Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage shortly after the publication of Harry's memoir Spare, with royal insiders claiming the book directly influenced his decision.The bombshell book saw Harry make a number of shocking claims about his estranged family.
One section saw him claim that Queen Consort Camilla leaked stories to the press about members of the Royal Family in order to rehabilitate her own image.
He also discussed his childhood fears that she would become a "wicked stepmother" like the ones in fairytales.The Duke of Sussex also took part in a number of TV interviews to promote the book, including 60 Minutes with Anderson Cooper where he branded his step-mother "the villain".
He told the TV presenter: "She was the villain. She was the third person in their marriage. She needed to rehabilitate her image." Harry later labelled Camilla as "dangerous", saying: "[Her need to rehabilitate her image] made her dangerous because of the connections that she that she was forging within the British press." Royal insiders have now claimed that Harry's comments about his step-mother have caused irreparable damage to his relationship with his father, and is the primary reason behind his decision to evict Harry and Meghan from their UK base of Frogmore Cottage.
