Train passengers in Edinburgh faced major disruption on Sunday as massive queues snaked out of Waverley Station.A broken rail between the capital and Berwick-Upon-Tweed caused severe disruption for those travelling to and from Newcastle.
Services on the route were either delayed or cancelled throughout the day, with passengers claiming there was a 'first come, first served' situation.The queues began to build up on Sunday morning with hundreds of travellers waiting for hours.
Pictures showed the huge queues and Edinburgh Live spoke to passengers - with some questioning whether it was worth waiting.One couple, who were hoping to get back down home after spending a few days in the capital, said: "We are just trying to get back down to Durham.
We have been told that there are about six hours worth of train journeys in the queue in front of us and that it's first come first serve.
