Prior to the launch of First Dates, the ex-narrator had a hugely successful career, and has continued to do so long after leaving the dating show.
His big break came when he was offered the role of Anthony in BBC sitcom The Royle Family which was first aired in 1998. He then went on to star in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps which ran for 9 seasons in total.
The writer has also spent a lot of his career on stage. He starred in ITV’s pantomime of Aladdin in 2000, and was nominated for an Olivier Award for his performance as George Harrison in the Royal Court Theatre’s ‘Presence’.
