Data from the 2021 Census has shown that the population of England and Wales has increased by 6.3 per cent in the last 10 years.

When compared to previous census data, it shows a steady slowdown in population growth. Previous census data in 2011 showed a growth of 7.8 per cent.

In Manchester, the population has risen significantly in 10 years, going up by nearly 10 per cent. Similar but less dramatic increases have been seen in the other Greater Manchester boroughs.
